Cheap Cereal... get your coupons ready!

Okay,
Shop Rite has General Mills cereals this week for $1.99 when you buy 4 boxes.

Coupons.com has a coupons for a few of the ones on sale which would make them .99 or less.  Then you make sure you get the digital coupon for the Honeynut Cheerios and the lucky charms which will make them only .50 per box.

I have enough coupons to get 16 boxes of cereal for $11.86 (avg.. .74 per box)!

More updates of tips to come!!

Where to Begin

There is a lot of information that I'm going to share here... big reason for the blog.

I use coupons from several sources, and a few are FREE (we love this word and look for it OFTEN) :-)

Free Sites:

  • coupons.com
  • smartsource.com
  • redplum.com
  • Coupon Network (has all together)

Digital coupons are available on most store sites that have a store savings card.

  • shoprite.com
  • pathmark.com
  • stopandshop.com
  • savingstar.com (seperate from store cards but will give you money back for their digital coupons)

I also purchase coupons from a few various sites:

  • Ebay    (yes people actually give you coupons; you pay for their time to clip and ship 2u)

  • thecouponclippers.com   (a coupon clipping service)  I check this site often for what coupons come in Sunday's paper
To register on any sites for alerts or such I made up a coupon email just for this purpose, if not be ready for A LOT of emails!!  I send everything to my coupon gmail and know when i check that email there is ONLY money saving coupons, sales, etc....

There is also a helpful site:
thekrazycouponlady.com
this site sometimes helps me with things unadvertised and such

Make sure you have something to organize your coupons and have it handy when you go to the store.   I have a zippered 3inch 3ring binder... I will post pictures later.
I never leave the house without my binder ( you never know when you could need a coupon)
REUSABLE BAGS (these make money for you  over time)
Shop Rite gives back 5 cents for every canvas bag you use... can really add up (10 bags in one shopping trip is .50) that's like another coupon!! They also give 2 cents for reusing the plastic bags (sometimes i reuse to put meats in)

Pathmark only gives 2 cents no matter what type of bag (hey it's better than nothing)
Pennies add up to silver money and silver money adds up to dollars...you see what I'm getting at.

Take a lil time and look over your stores circulars, see what you need on sale or maybe not need but it's a great price.... then check the coupon sites.  If there are coupons for items on sale you save a lot.

I will be posting store sales and coupons if any out there that match up to the sales.

I hope this short late blog is enough to give you an idea what you need to do to start.

Happy Shopping!

Starting out..

Hello,

A little about my couponing history....
Started over 10 years ago, but off and on.  I first got into it after reading how some lady saved enough in coupons to take her entire family on vacation. I was amazed how this woman would take any money she saved from couponing and put it away ... in a year she had saved over $5000!   I couldn't believe it and try it myself.
Well let's say my oldest son has a nice start in his back account from my efforts.

Anywho I got back into it roughly 2years ago, and this time more serious than before.
Let's face it, in today's economy if your household is not bringing in over 6 figures, you have to save somewhere (especially if you have children).

Well I hope that this blog will help a lot of you looking for assistance in getting started and how to maintain without giving up enough life hours to count as an additional job
:-)

I have a co-author T. Bishop. She has been my couponing buddy for last 2years and we often make sure the other doesn't miss out on any Good deals.  Hope you guys enjoy!!

Feel free to send any questions you may have about couponing... Hope we can be of help!
